Multiply Your Effectiveness: Outsourcing Your Backlink Creation Efforts
By BFBpro | August 29, 2008
If you want to maximize your effectiveness in any link building campaign, at some point it may become useful for you to outsource the work of getting/creating backlinks. There are several reasons why this might be a good option for you –
First of all, consider carefully the value of your time. In monetary terms, what is an hour of your time worth? Now, considering the number of article submissions, or blog post comments, or reciprocal link exchange requests that you could personally create in that same hour, would it be cost-effective for you to do them yourself? Suppose you put a value on your time of $80/hour. Suppose you could create 10 blog post comments in that hour, doing the work yourself. This would mean that the “cost” of preparing each blog post yourself would be $8.
Now, what if you could outsource the preparation of those blog post comments for just $2 each? Then that set of 20 blog post comments would only cost you $40 instead of $80. In a situation like that, it would definitely make sense to outsource the writing of your blog post comments. Not only might there be a cost savings, but outsourcing will serve to free up your time as well — time you will then be able to devote to other projects and priorities.
There may be other reasons why outsourcing of your backlink promotions would be a good solution for you. For example, if you are doing website promotion on a part-time basis, and have very little time, it would be a good strategy to let others handle this work for you. Another reason you might want to outsource the work of getting backlinks for your web site(s) is if you are not very confident as a writer (if you were using article marketing), or not an efficient typist. If these are not your strong suits, why not let others do the job? If you find this work tedious, why not entrust this job to someone (a professional writer, for example, to write articles) who finds the task enjoyable?
Whatever your need or reason, if outsourcing of your backlinks campaigns makes sense for you, then you will be glad to know that outsourcing opportunities exist. For example, you could head out to established freelance sites such as Guru.com or Elance.com and secure bids from a variety of professionals who could undertake these tasks for you.
Those who run brick-and-mortar businesses (those with a physical location open to the public) may have additional options: you could choose a secretary or administrative assistant (or even an intern) and have them spend time working on various backlinking projects such as writing and submitting articles, or searching for blog sites to leave comments on, or searching for sites which accept link exchanges.
Even if you are a “business of one,” you don’t have to despair — perhaps you have a family member who is a somewhat talented as a writer, or who is Internet-savvy. Why not have them do some of this work? A highly successful Internet marketer I know uses his spouse for many of these types of tasks. You could even use your kids if they possess the skill. The point is: if you want to outsource your backlink campaign efforts, you do have options.

I would be more wary of outsourcing - simply because the most valuable links are those that are from websites relevant to your own. If you’re a florist and you ask me to write and post an article for your I’d be more than happy. But a comment about the new iPhone on GSM arena is not as likely to help you as an article on flowers on..the leading flower website…whatever that may be…

I agree that there are numerous reasons that justify outsourcing of backlink promotions. In this kind of outsourcing dedication of hired Virtual Assistant becomes more important than talent. Though this is a very informative article but even then a visit to ‘Making the most of your Virtual Assitant (VA)’ at http://outsorcerer.com/blog/?p=21 too may be beneficial.

Fair comments, but in all honesty, I would have also liked to have seen your recommendations for where we can hire quality people to do this work.
Regrettably, your “typical” indian outsourcer does not have good enough written english skills (let alone the knowledge of my market) to be of any value.
A crap comment ain’t really that helpful, unles it gets folks all riled up and that builds your traffic levels…
Anyway, if you have some suggestions, I’d certainly be interested in hearing them, as your readers likely would as well.

Eran -
Fair enough…we will be putting something on the site very soon about a great source of U.S.-based writers who will handle all of your writing for site promotion (blog posts, articles for article submissions, site page content)…so stay tuned!
